Viscar Industrial Capacity Ltd
![]() | Ever since I was a child I have always been fascinated with Telecoms, from the first time I opened my Dads radio to when I used to climb the roof to search for TV stations, telecoms has always been a part of me. After undertaking a course in Electrical and Telecoms Engineering and graduating from university, like many graduates, I was confused and didn’t have focus. I knew what I wanted, that is, to grow in my career, but I did not know how to start. I was advised by a close friend to visit Vicar Capacity just to have clear advice in my career path. From the day I entered the institution, I was impressed by the staff!!!!! Their PR was excellent, and they listened to me in length and advised me. I later met Engineer David Mulongo, who told me about the Vision of the institution, with relevance to Engineers in the Kenyan Society, and the Vision 2030 role of Engineers in Kenya. This created a paradigm shift in me as an individual, and made me realize that I am a leader and also a servant to the Kenyan people. From the long hours being taught by experienced and working professionals from different telecommunication fields, Satellite, Fiber-optics GSM and many other fields. This were the building blocks of my foresight as a telecoms Engineer. My fellow classmates and I were also taught quality PR skills concerning your presentation, which would help me in interviews, and believe me, from a personal experience, it works!! Engineer David also taught us project management, a skill I apply in my day to day basis as an Engineer. I also did a project, which taught me about teamwork, that as an Engineer, working as a team and coming with different Ideas brings the best in a project and in individuals Currently, I am an Intern at Safaricom, doing Radio Optimization and Planning-2G, 3G and LTE. I personally thank Viscar for the tireless effort patience and grooming they had for me as an individual. I also thank my parents for the support they had for me in joining the institution, my mentors and lecturers for the knowledge they imparted in me, not forgetting the Viscar Support staff for their dedication and commitment to their students. ![]() Posted By: Kabuch Wanjau, alumni, GTP program |
![]() | Viscar’s GTP Program is the bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge. In my first engineering job, I had great difficulty practicing my theoretical knowledge in the industry. The program is very practical and fills in the gap most graduates missed while studying their theory. What I gained most from the GTP program is a shift in mindset. I managed to develop skills that have helped me grow my business and make profit. I also gained more insight in the Engineering world and that has motivated me to pursue my Masters in Energy Management. GTP program is a great eye opener for any fresh graduate and also to those already in the field of practice. ![]() Posted By: Chris Mbori |
![]() | I am happy to be associated with Viscar GTP program. It gave me the best landing out of college; I was able to focus my ambition, develop a work ethic that gives an edge when performing my duties and responsibilities, not to mention that they got me my first job! The team at Viscar has proved dependable and resourceful. However, what I consider to be invaluable from my experience at Viscar is that I was able to build a professional network that continues to inspire to date. I recommend this program to all those graduands who feel they need a better understanding of the industry to best place themselves and grow their careers.![]() Posted By: Philip Malala , alumni, GTP program |
