- about us
With the introduction of the Eurocodes to succeed the national standards used as codes of practice, it is absolutely essential that civil and structural engineers begin the process of transitioning. In Kenya, the British Standards are still commonly used in most design offices yet these were officially superseded in 2013 and there are no more revisions being prepared or issued by the British Standards Institute (BSI). The Structural Eurocodes with the UK National Annex were adopted as Kenya Standards through Gazette Notice (No. 13048, 14th September 2012). It is expected that by January 2021 the process of implementation of Structural Eurocodes will have been completed for their use in the construction industry In light of this, this course is prepared and designed to help Kenyan engineers familiarize themselves with the Eurocodes and begin using them in their design work.
>Upon completion of the training
> Engineers will be able to understand:
> • The concepts behind the Eurocodes and the application of Structural Eurocodes in Kenya
> •How to navigate between the Eurocodes relevant to structural design and other associated publications
> •The links between the Eurocodes and Product and Execution standards
> •Actions and form combinations and how to identify them
>This course is prepared and designed to help Kenyan Engineers familiarize themselves with the Eurocodes and begin using them in their design work.
